The Blue Van: Scandinavian Working Class Rock Heroes

Spring/summer 2014 I got to spend time with four smashingly nice rock’n’rollers, filming for a web documentary about them: The Blue Van (Danish rock band).

Allan, Steffen, Søren and Per are genuinely in love with music. They’ve been playing together since they were in their teens. Now in their 30’ies the song writing is vivid as ever – and their live performances are on fire!

What do the (20) episodes show?

Some of them show these Scandinavian working class heroes in their rehearsal space, playing cover songs. And some of them presents you to the everyday life of each band member. And other episodes take you on tour, to their hometown in the northern parts of Jutland, DK.

The series hasn’t been released yet.

SURFACE by Søren Solkær

I made this teaser for my boyfriend, the amazing person and photographer Søren Solkær. It’s about his project SURFACE, where he portrays the leading figures in street art and graffiti.
For the past three years we’ve been travelling the globe in order to find and photograph (film, for my part) these incredible artists…

Spread Sustainia

Baking bread & presenting an initiative that helps build a worldwide sustainable community:
SPREAD SUSTAINIA – a social media based creative travel toolkit on the journey to SUSTAINIA

The concept of SS is to launch creative and aesthetic activities with the scope of spreading the idea of sustainability.

It is my thesis film, from when I graduated from university in 2012. Top performance. So they said. The film was recorded on an iPhone 4 using the ‘8mm Vintage Camera’ app. I used masking tape to make the objects anonymous. And I hung my iPhone from wooden beams in our apartment also using masking tape.

The music is a tune that I wrote for Søren.

Btw, SUSTAINIA is an innovation platform where companies, NGOs, foundations and thought leaders come together to support and work with a tangible approach to sustainability. Read more here.

Keys to a few of the occurring metaphors:

  • The Bread = The Future
  • The Butter = Your Desires
  • The Smile = Survival of Humankind

Idea, direction, photography, edit and music.

A Picture of Søren Solkær

Søren Solkær is a very pleasant being, a gifted photographer, and my boyfriend. I made this 30 minute documentary about him in 2014 for Danish national TV.

The documentary revolves around the making of Søren’s project SURFACE, where he portrays the leading figures in street art and graffiti. We’ve been chasing up these artists in many different cities over the past three years. Miami, Los Angeles, Paris, London… (that’s all you get to see in this doco)

Shown on Danish National TV (DR K), 2014.
